Happy Summer Everyone! It’s been a longggg time since I’ve written. And being an actor means the work is either “feast or famine.” The famine has finally ended and I’m happy to share what has been going on.
THE OCTOGAMES, a horror film loosely based on the THE SQUID GAMES has been released via Video On Demand (aka VOD.) I play a crazy driven woman intent on increasing her business to be on a global scale. The film is NOT for children, but adults who enjoy campy horror will enjoy it. Spoiler alert! I don’t die in the film, but I don’t win the games either….. You can watch it here on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Octogames-Lacy-Hartselle/dp/B0B8V9FKDQ/ref=sr_1_1?crid=11ZLYBC3JWLRP&keywords=the+octogames&qid=1685816062&sprefix=the+octogames%2Caps%2C230&sr=8-1, though it is on other platforms.
In addition to the cast/crew photo at the top of the page, here is a photo of me after I received my scar in make up.

I was in an episode of AGING MATTERS, a program created by my local PBS station about issues affecting the elderly. This show can be accessed via your local PBS website anywhere in the United States. Here is a link to the episode titled “Exposing Cyber Threats.” Note you may need to sign in first identifying your local PBS station to get to the episode.

And I FINALLY was able to perform live again! The last time I performed live was pre-COVID in March, 2020. And this felt like coming home. I performed as a character in a live “Clue-type” game which is mostly improv. I’ve done two performances and and loved it tremendously. I didn’t realize how much I had missed performing live, but it felt like coming home.
A few weeks ago I shot a training film for a global hospital company. If you happen to work for this company, chances are you will see me in a required training film about diversity.
And since more than one casting directing believes I have a “hospital vibe” I also recently shot a commercial playing a physician for the North Georgia Hospital System. If you live in the greater Atlanta area, you will likely start to see this commercial. Here is a still from the set:

In May, I attended the Southeast Actor Conference and took a variety of workshops and lectures. Casting directors, acting coaches, and other industry professionals offered a wonderful array of topics. I had a wonderful time, met some wonderful people and wish I could have attended everything offered. I hope to attend again next year.
Here I am with my actors friends at the conference:
Last week, I shot a music video for the artist Chayce Beckham, who won American Idol in 2021. The song is “23” and it’s a great song which I learned on-set was autobiographical. Here is a shot from the set:
I welcome the feast that has come my way recently, but I know it won’t last. The famine will return and that’s okay.
Summer is here (and so is the heat and humidity in the South), so I hope you enjoy the sunshine and all summer has to offer.
Until next time, thank you for your interest. It means the world to me.
