Latest News - FEBRUARY 2020
It’s February already! WOW! I feel like I’ve been really busy but when I see it on paper, it doesn’t seem like I’ve done a lot.
I recently attended a screening of THE ALPHA TEST, a horror film I shot last year. It really is a good film and addresses the issue and concerns of artificial intelligence. Everyone cheered when my character dies. It was a fun shoot and here is a photo of me on set after my death scene.

I started Improv class. I think the best actors are also fine improvisors. I have studied improvisation before in workshops with Second City in both Chicago and Los Angeles, but this is a course with weekly classes. I’m having a great time but it isn’t easy. Most character work that I do involves a backstory that I bring to my character. With improvisation, I learn my character in the moment….yikes! I’m in class with some wonderfully talented and creative people that I hope I will work with and know for many years to come. And I hope the skills I learn in improvisation study will add to my tool box of skills. I feel that my instincts are good, but I need to hone them.
In January, I shot a short student film titled “I Think He’s Right” about two couples who both end up at the same Airbnb cabin at the same time because of a mistake. I played a “cougar” with a much younger boyfriend. It was a fun shoot. Because I had only worked with one other person on the set before, it felt a little like the first day of school when I arrived on set. However, the entire team soon felt like an ensemble and I believe these students are destined for greatness. I *think* the film will be screened in May. Here are some set shots:

And I RECEIVED AN ACTING AWARD!!! My first! I got an award for the web pilot for the show “It’s Complicated” by the Southern Shorts Film Festival in Georgia. Here is my award. WOW!

And finally, I am prepping to shoot WHITE TALON CITY in Texas beginning at the end of this month. I play a gunslinger who rescues abused women. I’m also an Executive Producer of the film, my first time as a producer. Everything about this film from the script to the crew to the artwork for the poster is top quality and I’m humbled to be a part of it. We still need some funding for it, so if you are inclined to give ANY amount, please check out our gofundme page here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/western-women-of-white-talon-city. If you also want to be an Executive Producer, donate $1000 and your desire will be fulfilled. Here is the poster for the film:
I can’t wait to share details about shooting WHITE TALON CITY next month. Until then, take care of yourselves, and THANK YOU for your interest. It means the world to me.
