What’s been going on with me? A lot of auditions. A helluva lot. So far I’ve auditioned more this year than I’ve auditioned in entire years in the past. Booking jobs…not so much. Apparently, the percentage of booking which used to be around 15% a few years ago is now at 1-2%. Fortunately, I’m in line with the current rate of booking. And more casting directors that have never seen me before now have - from Los Angeles, Miami and New York. Since I’m in this for the long haul, I’ll take the lull in bookings as an opportunity to focus on family and home, and I’m good with that.
In the spring I attended a showing of a short film I shot pre-pandemic, LOST AT THE STEPS. It is a faith-based film written by and featuring a new filmmaker, Kaitlyn Williams. That woman is going places and I feel honored to be on the ground floor of her career. After the film, to my shock I was asked to come up onstage for a “Q and A” session. Since this film was shot almost two years ago, I struggled with trying to remember the experience so I could answer intelligently. Here is photo of the session.

Early in the summer I shot a training video for the company KnowBe4, a company that trains in cyber security awareness. Though it was shot in the Southeast, this company provides training all over the world. And I was told South Africa is one of their biggest markets. So, if you happen to have to watch modules about cyber security, you just might see me.
A film I shot in December, THE OCTOGAMES, is currently in theaters and online in Asia. It will be released in the United States in October, 2022. The film is loosely based on the hit series THE SQUID GAMES. It is a sci-fi horror film, so if you don’t like to see blood on screen, you might not like this film. But it is intriguing with a lot of story twists and turns. Here’s some minutia you might be interested in, fake blood for film is very sweet and very sticky. And finally, I recently shot two scenes for the film THE BIGFOOT TRAP. I play a flat-earther and am the comic relief in this film. The photo at the top is from the shoot.
